Wellbeing and community participation
Home to a Million Thoughts, RAMM often collaborates with partners from various sectors – such as community groups, health organisations, and local charities – to work around wellbeing and community participation and to bring people together with museum objects to spark conversations and creativity
We seek funding to enable wide participation and help groups develop innovative projects to cater for particular needs. Artistic workshops, culture cafes, family activities, learning courses, object-handling sessions, performance events and storytelling enable people to learn more about ourselves, each other and our place in the world.
Safe and neutral, RAMM is an ideal setting for people to find a voice, learn skills and build confidence. Activities at RAMM often combine many of the five elements identified by the New Economics Foundation as crucial to wellbeing (connect, be active, keep learning, take notice, give). RAMM’s partners work in many fields, including mental health, services for young people and older people, and dementia care.
