Andrew Hughes
Andrew Hughes, Conservator
I am currently working on the objects chosen for display in the new museum galleries.
How I ended up at RAMM
After working in the pharmaceutical industry for some years, I decided on a change of career studying conservation. I have a specific interest in ethnography and social history and joined the RAMM conservation team in October 2008.
Best part of my job
I am in the privilaged position of working extremely closely with objects, getting to appreciate the skills and craftmanship of those who created them - hands on.
What I'm looking forward to seeing/doing in the refurbished museum
I'm looking forward to seeing those objects that I have spent many hours of work on and pointing these out to to friends, relatives and anyone who'll listen.
