What I do

Curate the Natural History Collections - duh!!!

How I ended up at RAMM

In 1976 I got a job under the "Job Creation Programme" to document the RAMM herbarium. I worked with Exeter Archaeology Field Unit from 1977, was "head hunted" by building contractors, becoming a tower crane driver before coming back to RAMM.

Best part of my job

The variety - I'm still discovering new aspects of the collections - and the people I work with and have worked with over the years.

A funny thing happened...

A decomposing fox causes a stink in the Art Gallery. The smell of a rotting whale engulfs the whole museum. A meltdown in the freezer closes York Wing. Microwaved kippers don't go down well outside the the Nat History Lab and other smelly stories.

What I'm looking forward to seeing/doing in the refurbished museum

Visiting as a retiree.

If you see me in the museum, ask me...

When are you leaving?
