Samantha Parry, Administration and CRM Officer
My main role is to provide the administrative service needed to keep all parts of the museum running. This covers raising orders and processing invoices for the other departments, attending internal and external meetings and taking and preparing the minutes and agenda’s, I bank and reconcile all of the money and answer the numerous enquiries which the museum receives. I help the Management team with anything they need from booking travel to arranging meetings and events and preparing presentations. I am also responsible for the Museums CRM (customer relations management) database making sure that all the data meets General Data Protection Regulation GDPR guidelines and that the data is correctly entered, updated and useable for our marketing and membership teams and the system meets their needs.
How I ended up at RAMM
After 6 years of working for a local estate agents I decided I needed a complete change. When I was a child I either wanted to be my primary school secretary (she had a glass office and a safe in the floor which at the time I thought was the coolest thing ever!) or to work at the Museum, so when this role became available I jumped at the chance to apply.
Best part of my job
Working in the Museum I used to love visiting when I was a child. After over 20 years of office based experience there is always something new to learn at the Museum. The collections on display and the exhibitions are constantly changing so it always seems fresh and new. The team’s commitment and enthusiasm makes every day different and great fun. I have also loved seeing how the Museum has developed and grown over the years (I joined in 2003) into one of the City’s most visited and loved attractions.
