Work Placements are offered to university students over 18 years of age as a required part of an academic course or college students who have a genuine interest in pursuing a museums related course at university . Please see the work placements page for more information.

Work experience for 15-17 year olds

The Programme

Five full and enriching days which will take students from 15 to 17 years of age (inclusive) from a walk around the museum when it is closed to the public, where they will see the award winning exhibits, to a full week engaged with how the museum works, both as seen by the public and behind the scenes.

Due to the high demand for work experience placements at RAMM, preference will be given to students attending schools/colleges in the Exeter area and its near neighbours (EX1 to EX17).

RAMM is offering its Work Experience Programme on the following dates

10 to 14 July 2017 (Applications closed)

16 to 20 October 2017 (Applications will be accepted from 1 Feb 2017 to 2 Jun 2017)

We are unable to accept applications for dates not specified on this page

Application process

The deadline for submission of applications will be strictly enforced.  Applications received before the opening date or after the closing date will not be considered. Please download a copy of the application form from this page. Once applications are received, they will be considered by a selection panel and selected students will be invited to attend an informal interview.  The interviews will take place on a day and time to be advised during a school holiday, or at 4.15pm in term time.  The informal interview will provide not only an opportunity to ask questions but also establish that the experience is suitable for both sides.
