Funding for Cypriot archaeology

A new project will improve access to RAMM’s Greek and Cypriot archaeology collection. The collection contains around 450 archaeological objects of glass, stone, metal and pottery which were made or used in ancient Cyprus and Greece. Some objects can be seen in the Ancient Worlds gallery but many more remain in RAMM’s stores.
Funding from the A. G. Leventis Foundation will allow museum volunteers and staff to conserve, photograph and research many of these objects and make them more accessible for visitors and researchers. Beautiful pottery and glass vessels will be seen in the More in Store visible storage area in RAMM. Photos and information about objects will be made available online adding to the museum's collections database: www.rammcollections.org.uk.
This project is only possible thanks to a grant from the A.G. Leventis Foundation which was established in 1979 to continue the charitable work of Anastasios G. Leventis after his death. The Foundation emphasises the conservation and dissemination of the Greek and Cypriot cultural heritage based on the threefold motto: Culture, Education, Charity.
