Niamh Canning – Marketing Assistant
My role is to assist the Audience Development team with marketing the exciting events and exhibitions at RAMM. This includes writing engaging content and developing creative ideas to inspire new and existing audiences, focusing on our social media channels.
How I ended up at RAMM
Over the past three years I’ve worked and volunteered in the heritage and museums sector in a variety of different roles. Most recently I worked at Sutton House (National Trust) in London delivering guided tours and events. Last year I completed an MA in Heritage Management at the University of Birmingham where I learned about the importance of creating accessible marketing and programming in museums that caters for all interests and needs.
Growing up I’ve always aspired to live and work in Exeter. When I saw this role advertised I jumped at the chance of being able to explore my love for heritage at such an impressive local museum in a beautiful city.
Best part of my job
Being creative every day! I love developing new ideas to engage our audiences with RAMM’s events and exhibitions, particularly designing creative content to share across social media.
What I like most about RAMM
The incredible variety of events and exhibitions that we offer! Despite joining RAMM in a period of lockdown I’ve already had the chance to work on marketing campaigns for an amazing array of exhibitions and events, from contemporary art commissions to inclusive community projects and RAMM’s online Lates event.
