Artist Maria Lalic

New art for new displays
RAMM’s redevelopment project included new art for new displays. The work of three contemporary artists was integrated into the new museum.
Nicky Hirst
London artist Nicky Hirst created a display for the Courtyard gallery. A collection of evocative smells explore memories, experiences and collecting.
Maria Lalic
Paintings by Bath-based artist Maria Lalic, referring to the history of paintings and the origin of their pigments, are integrated into the fabric of the refurbished buildings.
Michelle McKinney
Leicester-based artist Michelle McKinney created the impression of a flock of birds flying across the windows of the In Fine Feather gallery in fine woven metal.
The three artists’ commissions were made possible by Grants for the Arts, part of the Arts Council’s work bringing great art to everyone by championing, developing and investing in experiences that enrich people’s lives.
