Book Signing: Secret of the Song
4 March 2017
Exeter author Cathie Hartigan will be signing copies of her latest book, Secret of the Song, in the Shop at RAMM on Sunday 19 March from 2 to 4pm.
Set in contemporary Exeter and 16th-century Italy, the novel starts and ends in RAMM. Cathie loves living in Devon and finds inspiration around every corner: “My debut novel, Secret of the Song, tells two stories, intertwining the past and present. Lisa, the heroine of the contemporary story, lives in Exeter. Although I have imagined the little music shop where she works, readers will recognise the streets, riverside, and many of the city’s landmarks. The plot revolves around a song that is found in the museum. How could I resist including a scene in RAMM’s distinctive pink foyer? It’s a favourite place of mine.”
The novel was released to great reviews:
“This story is a real page tuner and I read it over the course of a day. I loved it.”
“Nothing is spelled out; this is a mystery story, subtly constructed and many-layered, and it won’t let you down.”
Secret of the Song is on sale now for £8.99 at the Shop at RAMM. Copies purchased at RAMM can be returned for signing on Sunday 19 March from 2.30 to 4pm.
Cathie has lived in Devon by the sea, on the edge of Dartmoor, in a small valley running up to the Haldon Hills and now lives in the middle of Exeter. She is co-author of the No1 bestselling textbook The Creative Writing Student’s Handbook (in UK, Germany and France) and co-founder of The Exeter Novel Prize.
