Double Elephant Print Workshop win Local Art Show 2020
9 April 2020
The public vote hosted by Exeter Living to decide the winners of the Local Art Show 2020 closed on 3 April. The votes have been counted, and we are pleased to announce Double Elephant Print Workshop as the winners. Congratulations!
About the winners
Double Elephant Print Workshop operate from their Exeter city centre base, in the Phoenix Arts Centre. They have over 100 artist members from Devon and across the South West. DEPW offer courses, resources and support to professional, emerging artists and beginners alike. All with the aim of encouraging and supporting people to find their creativity. DEPW work with groups normally excluded from mainstream arts activity, both in their workshop and off-site through portable workshop facilities. Their outreach programme works with over 3,000 children, young people and adults every year.
RAMM’s collections
The theme for the 2020 competition is RAMM and its collections. DEPW responded to this theme by exploring a wide range of museum objects to showcase the skills of their artists. Many works are already in progress for the exhibition, including pieces by artists for whom this will be their first time publicly exhibiting work.
New exhibition dates
In light of the Prime Minister’s statement about COVID-19 on 16 March and further measures announced on 23 March, RAMM remains closed to the public until further notice. We will be postponing the Local Art Show exhibition until later in the year and will advertise its new dates in due course.
