Free day for International Garden Photographer of the Year Exhibition
16 July 2016
The Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery is inviting visitors to view the International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition free of charge.
The exhibition showcases the top entries to this premier competition. It is RAMM’s first ticketed exhibition, but on Sunday 7 August, entry will be free.
RAMM began trialling charges for some exhibitions, following a decision by Exeter City Council, based on responses from the public in the ‘Stronger Exeter’ survey. As part of the trial, the free day is being offered so that everyone has the opportunity to see the exhibition. Visitors will be invited to make a voluntary donation as they leave the gallery.
Now in its ninth year, the International Garden Photographer of the Year attracts over 20,000 entries from all around the world. The stunning images were captured as far afield as New Zealand and China, and as close to home as Dorset.
The exhibition is part of RAMM’s Naturally Inspired season of botanicals, gardens and landscape themed activities and events.
Sunday 7 August is the only opportunity to see the exhibition free of charge at RAMM. The exhibition runs until 28 August 2016. Funds generated from ticket sales will contribute to future exhibitions, activities, events, conservation work and outreach work.
Tickets for the International Garden Photographer of the Year are usually £4, with a charge of £2 for concessions (X Card holders & supporter groups), and entry is
