The award ceremony was held at Plymouth Guildhall and hosted by travel commentator Simon Calder and special guest, Polar Explorer Anne Daniels. 76 awards were presented to winners from 25 categories, including recognition for restaurants, hotels, attractions, guided tours, holiday parks and many more.
Councillor Rachel Sutton, Portfolio Holder for Economy and Culture said “We are absolutely thrilled to win Gold at the Devon Tourism Awards for Large Attraction. We strive to make RAMM a safe, welcoming, thoughtful place where all generations can enjoy Exeter’s stunning displays and changing exhibitions. We welcome and appreciate this recognition. It reflects the hard work of staff and volunteers making sure all visitors have a memorable visit, whether they are from near or far, young or old, whether wishing to learn, relax, meet like-minded people, find a place to be mindful, or simply to have fun. RAMM is Home to a Million Thoughts and we hope this award will encourage more people to visit Exeter’s museum and add their perspectives.”
RAMM will now be fast tracked into the South West Tourism Excellence Awards to be held in Torquay on 1 February 2018.
