Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What’s RAMM Membership scheme?
A. It’s a digital membership scheme which helps people to connect to the museum they love and support.
Q: What do I get when I join RAMM Membership?
A. Members get a personalised view of RAMM’s website and tailored email content based on their own interests. For example, this might include behind-the-scenes glimpses of conservators at work or interviews with curators. Members receive early notice about RAMM events and programmes and are able to transfer seamlessly to the ticketing area of the website. Members will also be able to give feedback about RAMM and take part in focus groups.
Q: How do I sign up?
A. By completing an online form at rammuseum.org.uk/membership. You can also sign up in the museum itself – look out for the digital sign-up stand at Reception.
Q: I already get emails from RAMM. How will membership be different?
A. Membership will offer bespoke email content based on the member’s personal preferences and interests.
Q: What if I want to keep getting emails from RAMM but I don’t want to become a member?
A. You can still get general emails from RAMM, but you won’t get the full breadth of membership content such as behind-the-scenes glimpses, interviews or online exhibition previews.
Q: What if I don’t have an email address?
A. RAMM Membership is an online scheme. You will need to sign up online in order to enjoy the benefits of this particular scheme.
Q: Will I get a membership card?
A. No – at present you will not receive a membership card.
Q: What’s the difference between RAMM Membership and the Friends?
A. The Friends of Exeter Museums and Art Gallery (FEMAG or Friends) is a paid-for scheme. Joining Friends is a great way to deepen your relationship with RAMM and meet other supporters. Friends meet in person and enjoy a wide range of benefits that members don’t including a newsletter, invitations to private views, discounted tickets to some events, social functions, outings and lectures. Friends help the museum with funding for projects or new items for the collections. RAMM Membership is a free web-based scheme offering additional content digitally.
Q: Are Friends automatically members?
A. No. Friends will need to sign up if they want to become members.
Q: How will my data be used?
A. The information you provide will be entered into a database. It will be used to inform you of events and activities relating to RAMM and its supporting charities, RAMM Development Trust and Friends of RAMM.
