October half-term at RAMM

There’s loads going on at RAMM this October half-term to keep younger visitors entertained, all taking inspiration from our new exhibition ‘Dartmoor: A Radical Landscape’.

Tue 29 Oct – Make a Dartmoor Pony Felt Badge

Ever wanted to take a Dartmoor pony home with you? Well, that’s really not allowed! But, you can take home the next best thing.

Join us at RAMM to create your very own Dartmoor pony badge out of felt and wear it with pride the next time you visit the radical landscape of Dartmoor. 10.30am – 3.30pm. £3.50 per child. Find out more.

Wed 30 Oct – Mossy Miniature Den Workshop with Naturemake

Come and make miniature dens in this wildly popular Naturemake crafting activity. Children will have the opportunity to use beautiful, foraged and found natural materials to imagine, design and create your own miniature magical Dartmoor inspired mossy dens and woody dwellings and animals.

Lots of fun for all ages from 4yrs +. 11am, 1pm and 2.30pm. £6 per child. Book here.

Thu 31 Oct – Dressing Up

Travel back to Victorian Britain or voyage to far off China, dance in a fancy frock or live it up in a top hat.

We’ve got costumes from all eras and all parts of the world, for kids and big kids (adults) alike. So venture into the Courtyard, step into somebody else’s shoes for a while, and don’t forget to snap a few photos and share them with us. 10.30am-3.30pm. This activity is free, just turn up and join in!

Fri 1 Nov – Night at the Museum: Hairy hands and howling hounds

Do you dare dive into the museum at night?

Join us for an evening of family-friendly fun within the museum’s dark galleries and experience RAMM like never before. Don’t worry, to help you find your way around we’ll be making some Dartmoor glow-worms and cracking out some glow-in-the-dark face paints. Then, armed with nothing but a torch and your wits, head off to find clues, solve puzzles, and unravel the legends of some of Dartmoor’s most famous creatures. 6-8pm. £5 per person. Book here.
