Sotheby’s are celebrating London as a global hub of creativity this summer with new exhibition London: An Artistic Crossroads.
Inspired by the National Gallery’s Bicentenary celebrations, the exhibition brings together masterpieces by international artists from regional museums across the UK, in one room, in the capital city, as an homage to London and to all those who came to be inspired, create and flourish.
RAMM is delighted to be loaning Walter Sickert’s ‘Reclining Nude (le lit de cuivre)’ as one of the featured works.

‘Sickert’s nudes captured an unsettling aspect of Edwardian society and encouraged a generation of painters to expose the realities of life in contemporary London. We are delighted that the work joins many other masterpieces from around Britain to help celebrate the National Gallery’s bicentenary.’
