The 1920s, sandwiched between the two World Wars, are sometimes seen as a forgotten decade. For those who lived through it however, it was a period of change. People sought new freedoms, while new technology, often a legacy of war, brought opportunities but also threats.
In this display, RAMM’s Future Skills Programme have explored the decade through some 1920s objects from the collections in the museum.
The Future Skills Programme gives individuals of all ages the opportunity to gain work experience in the museum and cultural sector. This project is one of a number that participants have worked on during their time at RAMM, giving them the chance to explore different types of museum work.
