Come and learn about the Maliseet (Wolastoqiyik) people from the region of Canada and make your own ceremonial animal cape or headdress. Inspired by the eared, hooded headdress in RAMM’s World Cultures, Subarctic and Northeast Woodlands collection, you will discover how, throughout history, the indigenous people of Canada revere their native animals, share stories about them in folklore and create ceremonial clothing, said to give the wearer the power, status and ability of the animal spirits.
This craft workshop is suitable for 5 – 8 year old children, with an accompanying adult. Please ensure you book tickets for everyone that is attending.
You will be based in a room where you can leave bags and coats and have a lunch break. Please bring a packed lunch.
