About RAMM’s Open Access Strategy

An exciting partnership between RAMM and the GLAM-E (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums) Lab at the University of Exeter is helping to ensure the museum’s incredible collections are available for use by everyone, copyright free. This joint initiative has overseen the development of RAMM’s Open Access Strategy, which aims to make the museum’s public domain collections available to people all over the world, whether for research or sheer enjoyment. RAMM is proud to be just the 9th UK cultural institution to adopt open access for all digital collections, and we are delighted to be able to share the benefits with you. Our Open Access Strategy hopes to promote free and creative expression, so for Creativity and Wellbeing week, RAMM is releasing a special new batch of textile-themed images which you can use as templates to create your own beautiful garments.

About Creativity and Wellbeing week

Creativity and Wellbeing week is run by London Arts in Health and the Culture, Health and Wellbeing Alliance. The festival began in 2012 and went national for the first time in 2019, allowing thousands more people across the UK to participate in culture and creative activities. Supporting both organisations and individuals, the festival promotes creative activities which boost wellbeing.

Any and all art forms are encouraged, and events can be held in clinical settings, cultural buildings or in the community. Whatever and wherever events are held, the main aim is to widen access to participation in cultural activities which improve health or wellbeing. This is the perfect week to get crafty and try something new while creating something lasting.
