This summer, Roaming with RAMM will allow you to unleash your inner-detective and go head-to-head with our family-friendly, clue-solving adventure through the hidden history of Exeter.
Each week, we will be releasing a series of clues to get you exploring the city on foot, unravelling riddles and breaking ancient codes as your search for six intriguing treasures lost to time yet standing in plain sight.
Each challenge will be added to this page every week, released across our social media channels and available to download as PDF, freeing you up to solve this puzzle, needing nothing but your deductive cunning. Don’t worry if you get stuck, each challenge will include links to get helpful hints.

Roaming with RAMM – Challenge Six:
Clue 1: From RAMM’s entrance you’ll need to find, a street whose name brings a more superior feel to mind.

Clue 2: As this street turns from one to another, bear right and carry on until you can literally go no further.

Clue 3: Turn left at the T-junction but be careful as you tread, as the next path you seek you might need to bow, don’t bang your head!

Clue 4: As you emerge you’ll need to turn right and look for a church that is the oldest in sight!

Clue 5: As you head to the left look for a beautiful oak door, that was made for the Deanery many centuries before. Carry on past this entrance looking for a gap in the wall, where Mayor Burnet-Patch had a bridge built, and inscribed his name to be seen by us all.

Clue 6: Pass under the bridge and look for a lane that is tiny in size and tiny in name! The structure you seek is along the old city wall and was used as a prison but is ever so small!

Roaming with RAMM – Challenge Five:
Clue 1:Head to the High Street and turn to the right, carry on down till finders of trails are in sight.

Clue 2: Head on down to the great door where angels and kings you can adore.

Clue 3:Head down past the school and carry on round; if you’re feeling, smart you’ll stop at a different type of heart.

Clue 4: Carry on down past another school (this one of sound), then marvel at bright colours as you head underground.

Clue 5:Head on around to the Hill of the Quay, down at the bottom an Inn of Prospects you’ll see.

Clue 6:Mind your head as you enter the shed where your answer is shown shaped like a wish bone.

Roaming with RAMM – Challenge Four:
Clue 1: From the entrance of RAMM head towards the gardens of Northernhay, that are said to be the oldest you’ll find in this country.

Clue 2: As you enter the gardens head for the statue of Victory, as you pass can you spot the dragon who is said to be the Demon of Tyranny?

Clue 3: Continue on forward until you reach the park gate and look for a covered walkway, then carry on straight!

Clue 4: When you come through the tunnel, the shop you must find, has the first name of a children’s storytelling mastermind!

Clue 5: Standing outside the shop you have found, walk past a bike rack, bearing right and your path now heads down.

Clue 6: The object you seek is said to be lucky, a clue to its whereabouts is in the name of a young wizard who was plucky!

Roaming with RAMM – Challenge Three:
Clue 1: From the steps of the museum, don’t turn to the right, but half way to the High Street head ‘neath the horses in flight.

Clue 2: Trek through the columns of ancient Egypt and head towards a building where many for many centuries people have worshipped.

Clue 3: Head south from the door and cross the square’s floor; until you can find a shop with shiny jewels galore!

Clue 4: Think green leather seats and constituents to greet; when you find where they meet, head on up their street.

Clue 5: The fit might be tight but when end is in sight, pop out the cleft and head to the left.

Clue 6: This street might be high, but the answer lies higher; above a Spanish port a Bishop sits between two sills.

Clue 1: Turn to the right from Albert’s memorial place; trek down the road to a tower with hands and a face.

Clue 2: If you hope to succeed, a warning you must heed: only around 11 o’clock should you dare to proceed.

Clue 3: A man on a horse marks the next steps of your course; turn where right is wrong and amble along.

Clue 4: Follow the great Saint of Wales up a hill if you can, then cross a bridge made from the same material as a superhero man.

Clue 5: When you come to the street where Paul and Bartholomew meet, at the great Gate of the City one last challenge must you beat.

Clue 6: With breath hot as fire, by St George he was slain; weather this final riddle or your efforts were in vain.

Clue 1: Starting at RAMM, with the Queen in your sight, follow her road to the street with great height.

Clue 3: Keep walking along as a hill comes to fore, carry on down as you continue to explore.

Clue 4: As the hill nears its end, you’re looking to find, a street that’s name might bring a compass to mind.

Clue 5: As you amble along, on this street you will see, a house that simply isn’t where it used to be!
