Interactive workshops will accompany our latest exhibition: Are we nearly there yet? A history of transport.
This summer, RAMM will embark on a special journey through the history of transport in Exeter and beyond. As told through unique objects in the museum’s collections, Are we nearly there yet? (open 15 June – 29 Sept) will explore how transport has developed over time and will spotlight the people and events which have shaped it.
Examples of what visitors will be able to discover in the exhibition include a sled from Captain Scott’s ill-fated 1911-12 expedition to the Antarctic and parachute material, made by local firm Heathcoat Fabrics, which played a crucial role in NASA’s 2020 mission to Mars.
Throughout the month of August, visitors will also be invited to participate in a range of hands-on, family-friendly workshops and activities inspired by the Are we nearly there yet? A history of transport exhibition.
These exciting accompanying events will put children at the centre of fun and learning. There will be a range of things to get involved with to suit all budgets and ages, such as LEGO workshops and craft activities. Whether you fancy joining us for some relaxed colouring sessions or the kids want to get stuck in with a crash course in LEGO racing car design, we guarantee we’ll have something to suit the needs and interests of every child. 28 Aug: Beyond infinity – LEGO brick vehicles of the future
1-31 Aug: All aboard the colour train!
