Celebrate Chinese New Year: The Year of the Tiger with six brilliant craft activities and a trail around the museum
Chinese New Year 2022 begins on Tuesday 1 February and concludes with the Lantern Festival on Tuesday 15 February.
Chinese New Year marks the transition between zodiac signs; this year is the Year of the Tiger. Tigers are highly revered in China for their ferocity but also their beauty. Along with the dragon and phoenix, the tiger is considered one of the most important creatures. There is a beautiful tiger in RAMM’s collection; you may have seen it while exploring the museum. It can be found in the Case Histories gallery.
We have created six different craft activities to try out at home, as well as a trail around the museum. Make your own model of a tiger drinking from a lake to put on display in your own home. You could design and paint your own Chinese plate, or make your own Chinese fishing game to play with your family.
