iMayflower Masters Studentships

RAMM has partnered with the University of Plymouth to offer an exciting placement for Masters R&D students.

These studentships are part of the University’s iMayflower project, which is designed to build Plymouth’s Creative Industries and nurture creative people power across the city.

The partnerships allow prospective MA students to work collaboratively with a local business to apply their knowledge in a work context. At RAMM, we are offering an MA Game or MRes Digital Art and Technology student the opportunity to work on the development of a prototype of an ‘escape room’ style game – ‘The Riddle of RAMM’ – inspired by the Museum and its wonderful collections. The game will add an interactive new resource to RAMMs existing digital programme offering an exciting way for families and young audiences to engage with the museum on-site and online from their homes.

RAMM’s Engagement Officer Sophie Harbour said:

“We are really excited to be able to offer this opportunity to Plymouth University Masters students. This opportunity will be really valuable for students interested game development in the cultural and heritage sectors. They will get to work with staff from across the organisation and
get hands-on experience of how digital technologies can be used within cultural organisations to provide innovative ways in which to engage wider audiences.

This is a particularly exciting and unique project as it aims to use cutting edge game development in a sector that isn’t always associated with its use of innovative digital technologies.”

All details on how to apply can be found here. The deadline for applications is Friday 4 June 2021.
