Museum at Large – Opportunity for artists

Opportunity for Artists – Public Realm Commissions

This autumn, RAMM is staging an ambitious and bold public art project, with newly-commissioned artworks being presented across Exeter’s vibrant and historic city centre. The project, Museum at Large, will provide exceptional opportunities for artists to develop and create new work inspired by our rich and diverse collections.

Through an open call and selection process, we now want to find and commission three artists to make new work as part of Museum at Large, an Arts Council England supported project taking place over the last weekend in October 2021.

We are looking for impactful and engaging work that will connect audiences in Exeter with RAMM’s unique and important collections, bringing energy and animation to the city centre and firing the imaginations of a broad audience. While there are no limitations on form or medium, we are particularly interested in ideas that will enable the project to have significant impact and/or visibility during the evening (including after dark), as well as during the day. The final works will need to be compatible with a safe, and therefore potentially socially-distanced experience for a broad and diverse audience of all age groups moving through the city centre across a three-day period.

If you are inspired by the chance to develop new work in response to our collection and want to collaborate with us on this exceptional commissioning opportunity, then we would love to hear from you!
