The Royal Albert Memorial Museum Development Trust is excited to announce it is seeking new trustees

Could you help protect the past, support the present and shape the future with us?

The RAMM Development Trust is an independent charity that raises crucial funds to support the work of the much-loved Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery which sits in the heart of Exeter. The Trust is governed by a dedicated team of volunteer trustees who have a passion for supporting RAMM’s work.

The Trust is registered with the Fundraising Regulator and is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and therefore offers trustees limited liability protection.

For fiscal year 2022/23 the Trust is looking to bring in two new Trustees. For the first role we are especially keen from someone who can help with fundraising. This trustee will have an emphasis on developing relationships with current and new supporters. Duties will include: networking, advocating RAMM’s case for support, helping to identifying and making introductions to new potential supporters. This role requires a time commitment of approximately five hours a month.

For the second role, the trust is keen to hear from people with legal experience. This trustee will help with, for example policy updates and administration around gifts in wills. The legal field is a wide remit, so the Trust does not expect you to be an expert in multiple fields. The trust would look to you for guidance but also accepts that external advice will be needed in many circumstances. This role requires a time commitment of approximately four hours a month.

All trustees are supported by the rest of the board (who officially meet on a quarterly basis) and the museum’s small Development Team.

For fiscal year 2023/24 the Trust will be looking to nominate a new Chair and bring in a further new trustee.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in exploring, we would be delighted to hear from you.

If you feel you have other skills and experience that would be valuable to the Trust and would like to be considered for a future trustee role, please do also get in touch.

To express an interest or find out more, please email [email protected] , stating which role you are interested in by Monday 17th October 2022.

We very much look forward to hearing from you. From the whole RAMM team.
