You can now visit the museum, the shop at RAMM and the café without pre-booking a ticket.
Having closed during the country’s second lockdown and reopened again on Thursday 3 December, our staff realised that we could operate in a safe way without visitors booking tickets. You can once again pop in to the Shop at RAMM to pick up cards and gifts, or grab a coffee at the café away from the busy city centre, without having to plan out your visit beforehand.
We introduced the pre-booking system back in October, following the museum’s reopening after the first lockdown. The system allowed our staff to limit visitor numbers and record track and trace information; it was implemented along with a one-way system throughout the building as part of a range of Covid-19 safety measures.
Cllr. Amal Ghusain, Exeter City Council lead for Communities and Culture said:
‘RAMM is a place people can come to recharge, away from some of the stresses of modern life. It provides a fantastic space to learn and relax; where we can shift into a lower gear and take in objects and art from around the world.I’m delighted that the people of Exeter will once again be able to drop into RAMM for a quick visit or shopping trip, with confidence that they will be protected by robust Covid measures.’
What’s on this winter?
You can also find new exhibitions, displays and artwork opening during December; Michelle Williams Gamaker’s film The Silver Wave, and the Local Art Show featuring Double Elephant print workshop have both opened this month.
Tickets will no longer be needed to visit RAMM from Thursday 10 December, although existing bookings will still be honoured. We will continue to monitor and manage visitor numbers. The one way route remains in operation to ensure people’s safety; visitors will also be asked to provide track and trace information or scan the NHS QR code upon entry.
