Evening of Contemporary Performance at RAMM

This event is now sold out. There will be a livestream on the evening on the RAMM Instagram channel.

An exciting evening of innovative contemporary performance art and dance inspired by the museum and its internationally important collections. Devon-based artists and dancers come together to bring a one-off, unique event of experimental performance to Exeter.

Ashanti Hare is a Devon-based multidisciplinary artist who explores their spiritual being through performances informed by traditional folk practices. Hare’s research into the minkisi or power bundles from the Congo in RAMM’s World Culture collections have inspired this new work. Ritual Performer and Musician, Ralph Nel, will join Hare in chanting and prayer.

Richard Chappell Dance explores human connection as an act of restoration. Inspired by ecosystems, Chappell’s recent show, Infinite Ways Home is a multisensory production exploring ritual, rave, and human connection. Featuring electronic music by the award-winning duo, Larch, alongside the acclaimed solo violinist, Enyuan Khong.

NooN present Murmur which explores themes of the subconscious and the underground. Bringing live music, light projections, costume and dance together, this new work imagines the natural world beneath our feet, focusing on mycelium underground communication networks.

Pay bar/refreshments.
