In this lecture Dr Todd Gray will navigate a controversial topic in current historical study. He will outline the principal ways in which Exeter was connected to the British Empire over the last 400 years through the lives of the men and women who lived and worked in the city.
Colonialism once permeated Exeter and this research will reveal Exeter’s part in one of the most transformative forces in English history.
