Join Nick from the Tanglewood Project – a craftsman with expertise in metalsmithing, woodworking and sculpture – to make your own artefacts from melted metal.
Decide your adult + teen dream team. Roll up your sleeves. Get stuck in!
Scour the museum for a relic from the past that fascinates you. A Roman coin? Ancient statuette? A long-discarded arrowhead? Then fashion your own version out of sand and clay.
Once cured, use a mobile forge to melt metal and cast your creation into a one-of-a-kind metallic object… and have a laugh while you’re at it.
Work with your adult / teen to make unique objects and memories to treasure.
No experience necessary. All tools, materials and refreshments provided.
Places limited for safety reasons so please book in advance.
Each ticket covers one young person aged 12-18 alongside one trusted adult.
The Tanglewood Project is an established educational organisation teaching creatively outside of the traditional classroom setting. We offer an extensive range of educational experiences for all ages and abilities from all walks of life.
The Tanglewood Project offers opportunities ranging from building stunning reciprocal rooved roundhouses, to the creation of bespoke workshops which meet the specific needs of the learners. These can be one off events, or delivered as an extended programme.
The Tanglewood Project offers sessions which are influenced by the ethos of Forest School, underpinned by the Protective Behaviours model (A framework of language which encourages and adventurous approach to life whilst acknowledging the right to feel safe and the corresponding responsibility to be safe.) This process of taking learners on a journey of personal development, whilst engaging in a practical and often creative experiences outdoors, provides hugely positive outcomes for all those engaged.
