Making our own history - metalcraft for home educators

Join Nick – a craftsman with expertise in metalsmithing, woodworking and sculpture – to make your own artefacts from melted metal.

Decide your adult + teen dream team. Roll up your sleeves. Get stuck in!

Scour the museum for a relic from the past that fascinates you. A Roman coin? Ancient statuette? A long-discarded arrowhead? Then fashion your own version out of sand and clay.

Once cured, use a mobile forge to melt metal and cast your creation into a one-of-a-kind metallic object… and have a laugh while you’re at it.

Work with your adult / teen to make unique objects and memories to treasure.

No experience necessary. All tools, materials and refreshments provided.

Places limited for safety reasons so please book in advance.

Each ticket covers one young person aged 12-18 alongside one trusted adult.
