Short Course: The impact of printmaking on the art world

Join exhibition curator Chiara Betti as she takes a closer look at the impact of the invention of printmaking on the art world and the use of various printmaking techniques.

The session will focus on the evolution of print production from the 15th to the 21st century. In the first part of the afternoon, Chiara will discuss how the use of prints has changed and how they have shaped our lives throughout the centuries.

The discussion will be followed by a hands-on session where you will be able to see artworks by great printmakers such as Samuel Cousins,  Adriaen Van Ostade, John Faber, and David Hockney. The workshop will also include examples of printing plates and printmaking tools.

This fascinating workshop is directly linked to the works of art on display as part of our ‘Pressing Images’ exhibition, which showcases important works from RAMM’s fine art collection.
