Simon Ripley of Exeter’s Double Elephant Print Workshop introduces the wide variety of printmaking processes available today. Using a portable print press, he shows how to make a range of prints, illustrated with fine contemporary examples of the craft.
In his talk, he refers to ‘Pressing images’, RAMM’s exhibition of prints from its fine art collection (30 January to 19 May), to demonstrate print processes from monoprint to screenprint, lithography to letterpress.
Simon is the founder and a director of Double Elephant and a linocut artist himself. An ambassador for the craft, he takes printmaking into schools, prisons, hospitals and beyond.
